While driving through an industrial area I spied this rusting, oversized container and had to drive a half mile before finding an opportunity to turn around.  This image is one entire end of the container and, for me, is reminiscent of a huge Mark Rothko painting - a large field of rich, complex color shifts.  In Rothko’s words, “my pictures are intimate and intense, and are the opposite of what is decorative”.
